I am a native of the Ann Arbor area in Michigan, and have lived in DC for over two years with my soon-to-be hubby Craig. We are getting married in May, after meeting at Michigan State 6 years ago - Go Green! This blog is about cooking, wine, and also food in general. I've been pursuing cooking as my primary hobby for almost 3 years and I love it. I particularly like Italian and Asian food, so those will feature prominently. Sources of inspiration include Food Network (especially Giada and Michael Chiarello), Food and Wine magazine, and the great compilations of recipes on Epicurious. My biggest influence, however, is the foodie household I grew up in with parents whose palates expanded throughout their adult lives and who brought my brother and I along for the ride. I was a picky eater as a child, but not anymore! However, I do not have much of a sweet tooth, and I much prefer cooking to baking, so you will not find many desserts here. Hence the title.
