Congrats on your many accomplishments!! Very exciting year for you two :)

It's always a bummer when things don't pair as planned, but I'm glad the crab went well. (and I adore those K Spade plates...!)

Congratulations to both of you!

Hi Jackie,

That's too bad that it didn't work for you. It's definitely not supposed to be tough or dry! In fact, by the end, mine is usually so springy that it takes some careful tossing to roll out into a round pizza shape. I am not a dough expert, but I would guess that your yeast was dead - either because the temperature of your water was off at the beginning or because the yeast was old. You also may not have kneaded long enough. Working with yeast just takes a bit of practice, and I am still a novice myself. Good luck!

When I tried the pizza dough it was really tough and dry--I'm in an arid climate so that may be why, but after I kneaded it the dough was still rather tough--not springy at all. What should the dough look and feel like?

Fantastic! I always figured you could make homemade pasta without the pasta roller contraption. Glad to see it worked out!

Found this recipe while doing a little research for thehungrysingle.com; we published a Frito Pie recipe by the Lone Wolf, with some tips for re-heating (assuming you don't devour the whole thing in one sitting!). The ground chicken or ground turkey tip is great, as is the additional toppings ideas. Nice!
